Auckland Transport’s latest campaign cheekily encourages the city to start seeing other modes- like walking, biking, busing, ferrying, even training. Built on the successful Mix Your Go platform, the campaign invites people to break free from car monogamy… at least for some trips.
At the heart of it is a humorous TVC featuring Sarah, a young professional whose clingy car just won’t let go - it even shows up at her office. A radio ad prequel sets the tone with Sarah having “the talk” with her emotionally dependent car. It’s funny, awkward, and oh-so-relatable.
Alongside the hero film and audio, the campaign taps into real-world behaviour change, highlighting options like the $50 Fare Cap, improved contactless payment methods, and buses running at 97% reliability with 42 frequent routes every 15 minutes across the city.
Because let’s be honest, sometimes the best way to move on… is without your car.
